Thank you Boston Fans

As a die-hard Philly fan (I know, poor me).....We love you, and we hate you.  We hate you because of 2004--well 2/6/05 to be exact.  We HATE you because WE WANT A WORLD SERIES TOO!  Yes, we are jealous.....We LOVE you and will never forget  5/23/82---Game 7 and the "BEAT L.A." Chant.  At that point, the Sixers went on to win game 7, and  subsequently "Beat L.A.".  I was 12 at the time, and I still get chills thinking about it.  Thank you, and I hope you beat Kobe (ex-Philly boy) and the Lakers!

We will BOO Santa, and Ryan Howard

It is getting warmer, and Ryan Howard is not warming up.  In the beginning of the season, he had some dropped throws at first, and appeared listless.  His batting ave. hovered at .189.  I figured  "Its Early".  It is June, with minimal improvement.  Is it another case of he got the money, and does not care?  Should they bench him so he can get his head together?  Or is it another case of a Phillie fan just being paranoid?

Remember---"For Who, for What"?

We will NEVER boo Rocky!

Flash Sux !

Seriously, why his he still on the team?  He is washed up-----always easy to be critical, but they should have brought in Lidge Weds. night---he was warmed up and ready to go.  Remember the old days?  Two types of pitchers---Steve Carlton, and Tug.  They were your starter and closer.  None of this "middle relief" crap.  Bring a pitcher in for one batter bull-s..   If you CANNOT pitch to any batter in the league, you should not be in the league.

show Em' the money...and WHAT?

Professional sports today is NOT really played for the love of the game, is it?  I think it is the love of the green.  Dare I say, Ryan Howard, who I love, got the cash, and is currently hitting .209, but they say he gets better as it gets hotter.  We will see.  Pat Burrell, off to his best start in years, must be a contract year.  Cole Hamels will again need to produce this season, because he is looking at a hefty salary boost.  Seriously, in the long run, the cash is evil, but necessary I suppose.  Players played because of the love of the game.  Not anymore.  Loyality is a lost art.

2008 PHILLIES-Hope for the true fans!

So nice to watch a Philadelphia team win, or to know that if they are behind, they have a good chance of coming back.  Philadelphia has not had any Championships in a major sport since 1983 (Sixers).  Typically, being a true fan, I know that once they "get there", or get close, they usually do something to blow it.  I hope, like every year, this will be the year we see another World Series Title.  However, I have been hoping for some kind of Championship from any Phillie team since 1983.

Non-Phillie fans believe that die-hard  Phillie fans are mean and obnoxious...we are.  We are bitter people.  We want to win something.  We have watched surrounding cities come home with numerous championships, and WE WANT ONE TOO!  The reason we embrace the fictional Rocky is because he was a winner!

Hopefully, this will be OUR YEAR!

Best players NOT in the Hall of Fame

I had posted a blog about Pete Rose being one of the best players NOT in the HOF.  I was trying to think of some others, and 2 other players who deserve to be there, and aren't are:  Jim Rice and Andre Dawson.  Hopefully, these players will eventually be voted in.  Can you think of anyone else who deserves to be there?

One of the greatest players NOT in the Hall of Fame!  It is a crime.
He liked to gamble, but you can never question that he always wanted to win and gave 110% when he played.  Write him in, vote him in to this years All Star Game!!!!!
Lets never forget Charlie Hustle!!!!!!!!
